Hi,

Ive bought an anytime return for GC routes only with a start date from tomorrow. The reason for the journey has gone, so will I be able to get a refund or am I looking at a day sight seeing in York?

If I can, would I be able to claim the refund from any station or only the station I bought it?

Any help greatly appreciated and will put you straight to the top of my Christmas card list;)

I'm no expert but I guess you're looking for a fast response, so I'll have a go.

I think if you take it to the ticket office where you bought it, you're entitled to a refund, minus an admin fee.

Sorry I can't be of more help

Thanks chris. Much appreciated. Any idea how much the admin fee is? If its a good proportion of the ticket value, I may as well have a train ride.

10 quid is the admin fee.

So you get 2 quid for a GC only Anytime ticket (as this is 12 pounds) and 1 quid back for an Any Permitted off peak day ticket, so you may as well travel anyway.

You can make this journey on any of the next 3 days without having to change the ticket.

I recommend buying on board next time, as if you decide not to travel you are not penalised.
