GC are self despatch everywhere, although at KGX and York NXEC staff will usually come accross just to have a nose and a quick pax count!!

As posted earlier,GC self despatch at every calling point and as 91101 has said, the only time nxec staff come near a GC set is to do a pax count(and by all accounts at KX they are getting quite fed up of doing it,:D).We did ask nxec for a quote to do it for us but unfortunately they wanted our eyeballs as well as the sockets !!!(nxec needing cash, hush my mouth missus !!)<D

footnote - If anyones interested,I passed my drivers rules on friday, just thought I'd mention it like,:roll: !

Hehe apologies, I wasn't sure whether passing your driver's rules was a provisional thing and things were still not certain but glad to hear that you definitely will become one :)!

Wish I could remember now! Think it was tucked away on the ORR website somewhere that was linked to off another site. If I find it again....!

Ignore me it wasn't ORR (but I did read some stuff on there recently... hmm, off to try and dig out what that was!) it was on RailChat a post by skimble. http://railchat.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=16614

As far as I'm aware, nothing has been announced yet regarding the 180s, so why Skimble has posted that, I've no idea.

Is it known whether any of the Grand Central power cars retain Marston cooler groups (the loud ones)? If not, the sound of a valenta and a marston together could be consigned to the history books when the last AXC/NXEC ones go in for refurbishment :(.

Hmm, I never heard of one instance where the AXC valentas failed in service.
