Its pretty pathetic! I cant seem it lasting much longer.
Even their website is hopelessly out of date - most of it talks as if the service hasn't launched yet. You would have thought they would have time to update it given the months they were waiting for the service to start.

0641 from Sunderland this morning only got to York.

Wouldn't it be better to suspend services until they are confident of reliability? Better to run no trains than to let down customers almost everyday.

0641 from York was actually the Duffs, so no HSTs out thus far.

Thats perhaps not a bad idea. I mean no trains is probally not really much worse than running a service which pretty much sounds unusable at the moment. The problem at the moment is they are getting a horrendous reputation. Would suspending the service even save them money because if they are paying all the late running / cancellation charges themselves plus having to pay to hire loco's and drivers in they must be losing an incredible amount of money.

I agree, I think the shuttles should continues as there is market for travel in that area, but whilst reliability to London is so hit and miss, they should suspend services south of York.

I hope not but with the way the railway is run it wouldn't surprise me. However I believe several TOCs have implemented emergency timetables in the past for various reasons and I don't believe any of them ever had to give any paths up.

Looks like the HST set is making its way out of Heaton, I've just past it. Saw #80 on the back, didnt see the front. There's also a PC and a coach standing out at Heaton.

Probably going down to start the 1650 on time. I doubt they'll suspend services, Network Rail's attitude to passenger paths is use them or lose then

The HST didn't do anything in passenger service today. Ran HT-York-HT midday, presumably a test run (ho ho). Was seen pottering about HT at 1915.

The duffs did the morning Sunderland-York in place of HST, did the normal shuttles and then did the evening York-Sunderland again in place of the HST.

According to Tony Miles on the wnxx forum, GC have reached the maximum amount of money they are required to pay out for delaying other TOCs (not sure if it's for this year or for a fixed period or what), therefore every time a GC service fails, NR has to compensate the other TOCs for their delay minutes.

NR are, to quote Tony, "very concerned about this and is debating what action to take next" :-?. Apparently there is also a new Route Director for the ECML who is looking to save every penny...

I really hope NR does not take action that would be detrimental to GC or it's passengers.
