Grand Central complimentary single journey

Having been delayed by over two hours on Grand Central the other week and taking into account the monetary stinginess of the delay repay scheme they offer, I decided to opt for a complimentary single as compensation. The instructions are rather vague, althogh it is still on its way in the post so may have more instructions later. Apparently there's a scratchcard involved and I'm to phone for reservations.

My questions are: I was delayed on a York to Thirsk journey, will the scratchcard be for any destination? Could I use it for a Thirsk to London journey and are there any time restrictions?

Does anyone have experience of this offer?

Why not use it from Thirsk to Wakefield Kirkgate?

(Bearing in mind the GC ONLY restriction:D)

Hi, received it yesterday just has a scratch card for the dates, you write in the journey details so can do Thirsk to London. Don't think I'll be following @185143 's advice as fancy a day in London and break of journey is not permitted. Oddly enough it was super fast being delivered (they said it'd take 10 working days) but the beginning of validity has been post dated to the 5th July.
