Just been watching Look North from Belmont trasmitter and there was a storey of the Northern Belle been in Hull for the first time today.
It is going to Edingburgh and the trip is a fundraiser for the Hospice, as it pulled away from Hull Pargaon in the background was a Grand Central 180 set where they usually stable the Hull Trains sets.
Has Hull Trains hired a Grand Central set then to get round its reliabilty problems.
Did you know that the stableing platforms that Hull Trains use are classed as a listed buiilding as this is where the trains left from to Liverpool for the German Jews who left gremany heading via Hull to a new life in America.

Noticed this set was stabled at Doncaster platform 6 earlier as a result of the chaos today.

Does this then mean all Sunderland services are HST operated to enable maximum flexibility with the remaining 180s?

Can't say if that's the aim, diagram 1 and 2 have been HST for a good while now, 1A61 still varies, but HST has been utilised more recently...

GC's 180s work the following Diagrams,
A60 Friday
A61 Every day excepts Friday and Saturday
A69 Friday

N22 Friday
N24 Sunday
N26 Monday to Thursday

The rest are all booked for HSTs. ;) Of course there is the problem of them swapping sets at the last minute but I've also heard that GC and Hull trains are going to work together to sort out the reliability so during this phase we could see them operating on each others routes. May not be 100% true but that's what I've heard.

Wait... will 101 be maintained at Old Oak Common like the rest of HT's? Or will Heaton keep it firmly under their control? OOC haven't exactly worked wonders with them

It's on loan due to HT's 180s recent run of atrocious reliability. There's a thread around here somewhere about it.

Need to be hiring in fleet support why is it GC seem able to run their 180's but Hull Trains are struggling to get their 180 south of Doncaster somedays, are First just losing interest in running services to & from Hull.

Old Oak Common do not have them for long enough to work wonders on them, Hull Trains are running such tight diagrams with them that there has not been enough time to maintain them successfully.

Hopefully with the short term lease of 180101 there will now be more time to spend on the arising work from the exams.

All of 180101's maintenance is being carried out at Crofton.

GC have more spare trainsets. This GC set leased by HT is the first time they've had a spare since the 180's were first introduced. Far from losing interest, it looks like First are finally committing the assets this operator has always required.

Does anyone have a pic of this train at hull?

Any known timings where I might catch it? (Hull / ferriby / brough ideally)

Noticed some antics just now at Doncaster where Grand Central Sunderland passengers were having to change between two 180s at Doncaster. Are they having problems now one is away?

I believe so, on Thursday A61 was cancelled because of it I was told. Today D73 was cancelled too.
