Sat on a 10-car GC class 180 this afternoon. The 15.48 KGX - BDI service was delayed at kings cross due to an issue with the brakes.
Presumably not entirely resolved as in the end they’ve ended up coupling it to the 16.27 KGX - BDI and combining the two services- possibly the only benefit of having the two running so close to each other on a Saturday afternoon!!
Thought this was quite a good bit of thinking over cancelling the train completely, (presumably unit with issues needs to get to Crofton anyway). Has meant the 16.27 running about 20’ late as left late and was right behind the 16.33 KGX-LDS stopper until overtaking at Retford.
Also sure to become slightly more snug as all for the West Riding stops have been advised to move to the front unit at Doncaster due to short platforms at Wakefield K, Mirfield, Brighouse Halifax etc.
