Grand Central £12 singles

Grand Central's website has news of lower-priced advance fares, both on the West Yorkshire and North East routes: www.grandcentralrail.com/advancepurchase

But there are no signs of any £12 singles on any date up to and including Fri 20 Apr which is currently the latest date available. £19 singles are still widely available so is the lower price band going to be introduced at a later date, and if so, why does the GC website imply they are available now?

Personally, I found their monthly sales much more useful as they provided flexibility for a reasonable - albeit not rock bottom price.

I haven't seen one of these sales for a while, so I fear they might have moved entirely to the advanced purchase model just like all the others. same old same old.

When I search for tickets it then offers to let me check for slower cheaper trains. When I do this I get list of ticket types - there is no GC £12 ticket listed. This is searching on the GC site...

Yes I did the very same and £19 is the lowest GC single. Why then is their website boasting of a newly-introduced £12 advance?

A week ago I was buying an advance for Mirfield to London travelling next Mon or Tues. Mon only had £19 advances but I'm sure there were £12 ones available for the Tuesday. In the end I splashed out £29 for a 1st advance on Monday.

But if I happened to "spot" that a Grand Central fare of £12 was available, and wasn't overly concerned about the overall journey time.

What would be to get to Scotland (from London) using a Grand Central service for the longest part of the journey?

GC to Sunderland, onward to Newcastle and Edinburgh.
