Hi all

Can someone please advise on next steps after evidence has been submitted to dispute an 'intention to prosecute' letter?

As an overview:
- Back on 30th June 2025 I tapped in and boarded a train from my local TfL station to Wimbledon (changing partway to board a Thameslink train.) The machine registered my 'tap in' as it was showing on my Google Wallet.

- During this journey, a revenue protection officer came through the carriage and asked me to tap my phone to prove I had tapped in. I willingly obliged (as I had tapped in) but for some reason his machine suggested my card had been declined. I definitely had the amount required for the fare available so no have idea what happened.

- I was then made to provide my details and provided with a slip which had a website to prove evidence. As soon as the fare appeared on my card statement and TfL account, I submitted evidence to provide I had paid the fare in full and received the relevant email confirmation of my submission.

- I heard nothing until two weeks ago (late November) when I was sent an 'intention to prosecute' letter. I have since submitted the same evidence and written a letter explaining my version of events. I tracked this letter so know it has been delivered.

Please can someone advise next steps? I am quite concerned that there seems to be no way of following up on the case, and given my previous evidence seems to have been disregarded, I'm keen to ensure it doesn't fall through administrative gaps.

Many thanks

Correspondence from TOCs can take some time to be issued though normally when a case is in progress responses are relatively quick.
As you have proof of submission I do not think there is anything to be gained by sending a letter asking for confirmation of receipt.
Is there an email address on the original letter?
If so even just for peace of mind I would send an email asking for confirmation of receipt.

Thr next steps are to wait for the company's response.

Which webpage did you visit to provide evidence? Do you still have the exact link, or the slip you were given? Please post it here with your details removed so we can see what's happened.
