The government has released new guidance for e-bike and e-scooter safety. It includes guidance aimed at consumers including warnings about counterfeit/uncertified batteries and the fire risks that they present.
Of particular relevance to the forum is that they also include specific guidance for land-based transport operators and how to proportionately manage risks. In summary, they say that where it is practical transport operators should carry such devices in separate compartments/storage areas, or provide facilities for batteries to be removed from the devices and stored separately.
