I had stopped by the revenue officer last Wednesday at Waterloo train station and the MG11 statement has been issued. Shall I wait for the prosecute team (SWR) write to me or better to write to them?
Thanks in advance.

We need to know more information to be able to help.

Which stations were you travelling between?
What time?
Did you have a ticket?
If so, what was the ticket?
Do you have a railcard or season ticket?
What did the person who stopped you say?
What did you say in reply?

Wait. If you give us more information we can provide advice on what to do when you receive a letter from SWR and what the likely consequences will be.

Agreed. You need to wait for their letter which is likely to take a few weeks.

There is a PM facility but the forum works because we are a group of extremely knowledgeable people when it comes to this sort of thing. You will see that if you look at other threads in this section.

It’s not our policy to give advice outside of the main forum, and while I understand why you might not want to divulge too many details on a private forum about what happened, I bet that we’ll have seen it somewhere in the past!

Does SWR normally do out of court settlement?
Search the forum for “swr out of court settlement” and you will see that they do, but this relies on people putting information into the forum in the first place and not trying to hide using private messages!
Sorry, but this forum only works when people share information, with suitable redactions of course.

Thanks for letting us know.

It would be interesting to know more details about why you were stopped. Normally train companies write asking for an explanation before offering a settlement but in this case it appears that they've offered a settlement straight away, which is unusual. I'm assuming that the case was very straightforward but it would be good know to assist us in providing appropriate advice to others in the future.

@ysk. Thanks for letting us know. A £120 admin fee might seems a lot for having bunked a £13.80 fare (something like a one-way trip from Woking to Waterloo, presumably?). Now that you've paid, this at least, should be the end of the matter and the key thing is that you've not been taken to court, where, if you'd been found guilty, the incident might have ended up costing you a lot more.
