Got a few questions.......

Firstly,as i passed all the exams and the managers interview,in 6 months time when i re apply,do i only have to sit the Structured Interview again,also do i have to wait for FCC to post a vacant position for train driver job too in 6 months or just re apply even if they are not advertising a drivers job?
One more question......do i have to notify them now that i want to re apply or just wait for 6 months to pass? Thanks for the help.

I would suggest asking for some feedback on the interview that you failed first.

Rather than just charging in again in 6 months, find out if there are some gaps in your skills and life experience, and do something about those first.

You only have to re - sit the areas of the tests that you failed, but I cannot say about the manager interviews. You'll probably have to sit those again, as they usually offer jobs to those that score highest.

Remember, if you claim to have skills that you haven't got, which are required for the job, you're going to get found out pretty fast in the training, and you'll be back where you are now in no time at all.

Whenever you ring them,there is never anyone there to answer,just a recorded message !
I will keep trying though,would be nice to know more about the reason.

Some companies have a policy of not giving feedback, so you may just have to live with that.

However, you can maybe work it out for yourself. These interviews are designed to gather evidence of certain competencies, from memory, things like ability to complete a long training course, ability to follow procedures correctly, ability to handle emergency/ pressure situations, etc.

If they ask the qwuestion, and you give plenty of evidence, they'll just stop you, and mover on to the next subject. If you don't provide relevant evidence, they'll keep asking the question, until they are satisfied that you CAN'T answer it.

Think back to any questions that you got asked repeatedly. They are your problem areas. Then think about how you are going tio get experience in them. If your present job doesn't give you the opportunity, try and gain some by doing voluntary work.

You can't just re apply in 6 months time. You have to wait until FCC or another TOC advertises a vacancy.
Also, I think that because the structured interview is part of the whole assessment process, you will have to take all the tests again. Other people on this forum have said this before.

BTW, I still haven't heard anything yet and I was in the same batch of 5 as you on Tuesday afternoon.

Don't know if this is a good thing or not??
