Gorillabus.com domain put up for sale

I've just noticed that GorillaBus.com domain has been put up for sale for $2,395 hock:

Now if Megabus stopped trading I could see National Express or Greyhound buying the domain for thousands of pounds but considering Gorilla Bus never really established itself why would the domain be worth more than any other .com domain referring to coaches or buses?

Just to add it was transferred to a new person in August this year who owns 1,000 other domains so the person who set up Gorilla Bus either let the domain expire (letting someone else register it) or sold it on to someone who presumably tries to make money off buying and selling domains.

From the whois info it looks like they've let their registration expire (29/8/13) and whoever owns it now is trying to get them to cough up the $2300 to get it back.

People used to be able to name their price for domain names: BBC blew $375k on bbc.com

He updated his LinkedIn page to say he works for Napier Point, before he made his LinkedIn page private.

I don't think in those circumstances anything has changed. Boston Business Computing are just as entitled to have bbc.com as the British Broadcasting Corporation.

However, if bbc.com had been up for sale and an individual called Steve Jones from Bristol purchased it for no other purpose than hoping to sell it on to the British Broadcasting Corporation then Steve Jones would be required to sell it on at the market rate if the British Broadcasting Corporation requested to purchase the domain off him.

Though I'd be interested how far they'd get with Lawyers when they have let their domain expire.
