Second for me too.

Maybe it's an attempt to plug his personal website?

--- old post above --- --- new post below ---

Actually - not strange, and not a plug. Google have apparently fixed it.

See this article from the AP

A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England
Looking on the other side, Google have been known to obey Chinese mandarins to keep things happy.

However, his official biography website is number two on the list ( The Wikipedia is number one). On accessing his website, there is a section that says that he has suspended his "Google campaign" after his website was reinstated.

i've got little time for Souter. He's one of those people who thinks he's a much loved national character, like Michael O'Leary.

You've never seen O'Leary and Souter in the same place......

Just waiting for Souter to introduce £12 priority boarding at Waterloo :(

At least Souter used to drive a bus occasionally - I've never seen O'leary flying one of his planes but I stand to be corrected :p

I hope O'Leary would never be found flying one of his plans, as he's not a pilot. He's always been a business man. :D

Controversial figure indeed he is. Nowhere near as hated as Michael O'Leary is though. I can even see some sense in some of his views. Not one bit of O'Hairy I have found anything to agree with.

The fundamental difference is that in their respective native industries of buses/coaches and airlines, Souter did a very good job and helped the sector grow, whereas O'Hairy caused plenty of unemployment elsewhere.

So from what I can see the website's DNS wasn't set up properly, and google didn't index it correctly. Following the correct DNS set up, with the non www. urls redirecting to the www. ones, the website was reindexed by google. This took a few weeks because google's crawling and index building takes time.
