For various reasons, I'm having to drop my Mum for a train at Bingham station in a few weeks time.

Can anybody recommend any good food-serving pubs near the station should we have time to kill before the train?

Thanks in advance!

The obvious answer is the Butter Cross, on the street from the station. Alternatively there a number of other pubs within a few minutes walk of the Market Place.

Added the screenshot from Whatpub.

The only pub in Bingham I’ve ever been in is the Horse and Plough. I remember the food was quite good there and for beer it’s Castle Rock Brewery. It’s only a couple of minutes walk from the Market Place.

Thanks for both of the replies- will have a look at them. (Any further suggestions are welcome too!)

The Butter Cross is of course a W*th*rsp**ns and should be avoided at all costs.

The Horse & Plough is a great pub. Castle Rock beers are excellent - Harvest Pale is superb. Don’t let your mum have Screech Owl though as she’ll cause a scene. Give them a ring beforehand to check if the kitchen is open as I don’t think it was when it was outdoors only.

No worries! Have just checked in with a renowned expert in pubs in that part of the world (my sister) and she confirms the Horse & Plough is excellent. Kitchen should be open now, as most Castle Rock pubs have opened theirs this week.
