I have an annual gold card and keep trying to use it after 10am on various routes.
As I do a lot of long (ish) journeys to do with work, I nearly always pay the £5 extra 1st supplement.
I have had nothing but problems trying to get train or ticket staff to give me the supplement ticket - some being totally unaware of its existence, or others on the train saying that they do not have a facility to do so- When I know that they do.
I get on at an unmanned and ticket machineless station - not that ticket machines allow you to buy supplements anyway!
I know that certain staff know exactly where to find this supplement but wondered if someone on here could give me some information as to where it is so that I can prompt them to the correct screen on the computer/ticket machine!
I have had no problems with SWT, it is mostly Southern and South Eastern Trains that are unaware of the supplement.
I am not trying to get upgrades for the actual journey that my gold card covers, as I know that this is not covered - I am talking about valid journeys in the network card area after 10am on weekdays and weekends.
I never had this problem pre privatisation (when it was £3) presumably there was more centralised training then?
Many thanks for any help in this area.
