The Network Railcard area is not being extended AFAIK, only the Gold Card area.

One question, I know that if I lose it I can get a replacement (at least the first time) —*how do I do this? Do I keep the receipt? The receipt states the price paid but not what the ticket was or how long it was valid for — can they derive that from the transaction number?

Thanks for your help, all!

Amy

Your details (presumably they asked for your name, address, phone number maybe etc) would be kept on a Season Ticket Database. This may be a paper system or a computerised system that stores that detail.

The problem is, this is TOC-specific so... I can't access the record if it was made at Macclesfield, for example, as I work at a station operated by another TOC!

Edit: Just remembered I read this thread before, and took this picture of the staff briefing...
...do not know what I can suggest!

I could physically reissue that ticket on gold card stock, but... I do not know if I would be allowed to, because you need to check and update the STDB really. I guess that if you came to my ticket office we would make an exception...

"... return to the issuing station ..." being the key words from that brief.

A Duplicate (i.e. replacement of a lost/stolen ticket) can only be processed by the original retailer, but a replacement for a failed ticket should be available from any ticket office, regardless of the original issuer, though you may have to "shop around" as some clerks will stick religiously to Condition 33 (which states original Ticket Seller).

Mind you, given clerks at certain London terminals that shall remain nameless refer refunds under Condition 26(a) back to the original retailer, are you at all surprised?

Interesting. Being new and not let loose on my own yet, I have only processed duplicate tickets, not a replacement yet. This is the time of year where I am issuing lots of new season tickets before the price rise, so fingers crossed I might not issue a replacement for a while! Interesting to note, I shall double-read the NRCoC now as I did not know that!

Also, I have been told that I am to refer all refunds to the original retailer, however I have not had a valid ticket* submitted under condition 26(a) yet which has been bought from another station, so I shall see the outcome of that if and when I get one!

*Closest was a ticket used fully on one portion; and half on the other, and they demanded a full refund!

They don't do they? Hence you only being able to get one a week before it starts?

I assume that once you get your season, it's valid immediately (so in effect, you can get an additional week free) although I never tried one of mine in a gate to see if it would work, but did always show it to RPIs. Of course I had my old one behind it, and continued to use that in the gates.
I tried mine yesterday and it was rejected code 118.
I don't think so. Just to add more confusion to rail staff.

What I should have done today (and others should if getting one) is get a partner card for £1 before you have to pay £10!
You can do that tomorrow too.

Nah, flew in to Vasteras and picked up by family, so no trains yet.

Isn't Vesteras where Bombardier make traction motors or something? Trains to Stockholm were only every two hours or so yesterday, so not a good option.
