Watford- Birmingham- Shrewsbury, Chester, Lancaster, Barrow, Carlisle, Cambuslang, Glasgow Low Level, Partick, Maryhill, Croy, Stirling, Perth, Inverness (can you by pass Inverness without reversing in the staation), Aberdeen, Edinburgh, York, Leeds, down to Bedford, St Pancras (FCC), London Bridge, Tonbridge, Ashford, Dover, Margate, Bromley South, Kensington Olympia, Watford.

Even better. Start from St Pancras, via HS1 to Ashford, round to Bromley via Dover and Margate, then over to Reading, Swansea, Heart of Wales line, Shrewsbury, Chester, then exactly as above but finishing at St Pancras, high level.
How many miles is that!

You reverse at Chester? And I don't think you can bypass Inverness...

How do you get to Reading from Bromley?

You can bypass Inverness, but not on a scheduled service. There is a freight / ecs curve that allows direct acces to the Far North from the Highland Main Line.

I assume past Wandsworth Road, onto the West London Line then onto the GWML that way? (since Virgin then XC voyagers used that route a few times - the west london line - acton on the GWML)

Precisely.
So the only problem is i apparently have to reverse at Chester? Oh well, go via Crewe instead of Chester then. Shrewsbury onto Crewe.
Im assuming we are allowed to use the Inverness avoider?

Having checked with Quail, you can go from Carrbridge-Nairn without having to go into Inverness station, you can go over at Welsh's Bridge Jn, just like you can from Dingwall.

Actually, yep you cannot, I was reading it wrong, you can only go from Nairn/Carrbridge-Beauly, and vice versa.

Spoil sport!!!

I thought you could, but hey, you live and learn.
I see a few others have included reversals though!

Well, i shall just go along from Partick to Edinburgh, and down.
Oh, and after Newcastle im now going via Sunderland. Bit of extra mileage!
