It is based on the novel by Mario Puzo about the fictional Corleone Mafia family.

I like the scene in Part 2 where Frankie Five-Angels is in court preparing to testify against the Corleone family, and Michael walks with Frank's father, flown in specially from Sicily, into the gallery. Not a word said, just a disappointed look, and Frank changes his testimony on the spot.

I love 3 with the helicopter that hovers outside the conference room and sprays it with submachine gun fire. Most of the other mob bosses are killed, but Michael, Vincent, and Michael's bodyguard, Al Neri, escape.

As you can probably tell by my 'Fredo' avatar, I love the films.

I've seen all three, and read the books to. My favorite is still the first one.

The scene where Michael shoots Sollezo and the corrupt Policeman in the restaurant is a classic.

Though I was slightly dissapointed that the first film didn't have the scene where Clemenza and his stooges beat up the boys who attacked the man's daughter at the start.
