I was thinking the other day about Gobowen goods yard, which remained open for coal traffic until recently (is it in fact still open?) I remember that there was a fairly primitive bottom discharge system alongside the passenger platforms, but would I be right in thinking that there was also a cable-haulage system, whereby individual wagons were hauled into position over the chute?
