It would appear that the rest of the E400 MMCs will see other cascades to start replacing older stock.

Morebus, same as 1792.
I wonder which of these are the most reliable scanias or MMC's. The 65 plate MMC's from Bluestar have not had the best track record in terms of reliability
I think we can all probably guess the answer to that! But the MMC’s will undoubtedly be significantly better on fuel, I would think?

I was wondering in the light of recently published Government deadlines how many Go-South Coast vehicle need to be fitted with 'next bus stopping' signs?
I believe that nearly all Bluestar, Swindon bus Southern Vectis and Morebus vehicles are already fitted.
It seems that by 1st October 2025, everything from a '64 reg or newer must be fitted if used on normal registered bus services.
Everything older by October 2026.

The Morebus summer changes have been announced - two new routes (11 and 21) and various tweaks elsewhere, including a 7-day service to Wimborne on the 6.

Look at all these late departures from Wimborne, shame the department times aren't spaced more evenly between the 6 and the 13/13A.
In the other direction, the last departure from Bournemouth to Wimborne will also now be a 6 (23:45) rather than a 13A (23:25).
On Sundays, the spacing between the late 6 and 13 journeys is a bit better, and the 6 will now provide appreciably later last journeys than the existing 13/13A in both directions.
In the daytime, there will now be 5 departures an hour in each direction between Bournemouth and Wimborne. Have there ever been that many before?
If only the service had been as good when I lived there!!
I had always found it strange that the X3 served neither Bournemouth nor Salisbury railway stations, given the obvious need for a "rail replacement bus" service to Ringwood from both directions, so this is good stuff, though I don't see why they still have this route serve Boscombe rather than Bournemouth railway station - any thoughts?
Also, I see they are sticking with just an hourly 70 this year, I guess that worked out for them last year.

Indeed. Bear in mind that Wimborne has seen an influx of new build housing in recent years, so the improved bus provision will be much welcomed.
Same here. I think it would be a smart move to divert it via Holdenhurst Road in Springbourne. That way, it kills three birds in one stone. The X3 is sped up by skipping Boscombe, it can serve the railway station at the Holdenhurst Road stop, and the frequency through Springbourne is doubled (assuming departures from Bournemouth are coordinated with route 22). The Boscombe - Kings Park - RB Hospital link could be retained by increasing the frequency on route 33.
When his (well deserved) New Year honour was announced, I noted that the MD's place of residence was given as Wimborne, which can't hurt either.

Probably because they get more passengers from Boscombe than to/from the rail station. The X3 has gone via Boscombe for as long as I can remember.
The extension to Salisbury station will be interesting given the traffic along Fisherton Street at times.

I think Morebus have missed an opportunity to extend the 22 beyond Castlepoint to Kinson, Ferndown or Wimborne, and merging the 12 and 24 into a single route, to extend the 12 to Christchurch.
But are those Boscombe passengers mostly heading for the RB Hospital or beyond? And at what expense to passengers from further afield heading into Bournemouth?

The 12 and 22 interwork to in effect create a north Bournemouth circular route. I think even through fares are available.
An alternative could be to extend the 24 to Wimborne to provide a direct Christchurch - Wimborne bus service. Not sure how much demand there would be for bus routes avoiding Bournemouth and Poole town centres entirely.
From my own experience, Boscombe and Christchurch Road generates a good stream of patronage to/from the Ringwood area. Also to operate to/from the stops directly outside Bournemouth station would mean a lengthy diversion as it's not straightforward to access to/from the A338
No need to serve the coach interchange. You can serve the stops on Holdenhurst Road (that the 22 currently serves) and run straight up to the next junction on the A338 at Springbourne.

Go South Coast will have the information that informs their decision.
There was the X1/X2 (Bournemouth - Ringwood - Southampton), that followed the route down Wessex Way, Holdenhurst Road and served the Interchange - can't remember when it went. That they didn't alter the X3 when that was withdrawn probably indicates which was the better route for passengers.

The 24 does a school run from Corfe Mullen to St Peters school at either end of the 'working day' - service 86. Not a bad idea though! In the same way that the 125 Ringwood/Christchurch (Mon, Weds and Fri) has a school service at either end.
Having spent the weekend in Morebus territory (how I still would rather call it Wilts and Dorset!), it’s a shame that the summer timetable wasn’t in place on the 40 & 50 Breezer routes. My decker was full leaving Poole bus station on Saturday morning, and remained full throughout. Somehow we managed to soak up most of the queue at Wareham station but had to leave a a large number of people behind in Wareham town centre. I stayed around Swanage and Poole until yesterday and noticed both routes were either arriving or leaving virtually full - Even just a relief vehicle would have helped for some. Surely More are aware that people will use their services to reach events like the Swanage Railway Diesel Gala & head to the coast on warm sunny weekends like this?
However, despite the wedged services, they were just as I expect for a GSC operation - smart punctual and a refreshing change from my local stagecoach operation!

Fair enough, they must have appeared a little later on then (or remained unadvertised on some of the stops) - I was upstairs for most of the trips enjoying the stunning scenery.
On another topic the 19a via Hill Lane in Southampton seems to be doing fairly well, always seems to pick up a decent number of passengers along the way, whatever time of day. Naysayers were saying that the Hill Lane area is too wealthy and everyone drives - ignoring the fact that in the lower half, in particular, there seems to be quite a bit of rented/student type accommodation.

When I lived there I had to wait for more than an hour for a bus home (at that time, the final bus 6 was at 23:10 and the final bus 13 was at 23:20) after going to the bridge club at Wimborne, as both the 6 (then ran by Yellow Buses) and 13 had the second-last southbound departure from Wimborne nearly two hours before the last bus. The majority of route 6 departures in the evening terminated and turned back at High Howe Close or Bearwood at that time.
The upcoming timetable change for route 6 will extend the final bus time from Wimborne for a whooping two hours!
