I noted Bustimes suggests that 4 Go North West single deckers have been painted in heritage liveries. GM Buses, Wigan, Lancashire United etc. Are these actually service buses or used as trainers, as I have not seen reports of them in use.

The two Volvo Eclipses are only used on route learning duties. I believe the GM-liveried Citaro has only just returned from repaint, and the Lancashire United one is in the process of being done - these will be on some form of training and not in frontline service as they are not in Bee Network livery!

All route learner / taxi depot vehicles. Not for service.

Street Deck 3452 was de-roofed this morning on a low bridge close to western street depot.
Apparently it was on a dead run back to depot from the MRI with no passengers on board.

Most likely be repaired, I think some sort of low bridge warning system needs fitting as it must be the 4th or 5th time a Rotala ordered StreetDeck has had its roof taken off.

I guess the low bridge 12ft 3 inch signage can easily be ignored.

GNW started to roll out a low bridge alert system when they were at Queens road along with the ‘Go check’ phones replacing defect cards so I would have thought everything at Bolton was fitted with it.

I could be wrong but I don’t think Rotala ever had any bridge strikes on this particular bridge close to western street depot. Most of theirs were in Eccles or Rochdale.

Common sense lacks in some drivers .There are signs near every low bridge .If you cant read a sign as a driver no matter what things or systems are put in place ,bridges will still be hit.If you are lost park up and call for a moblile inspector.

Although a surprisingly easy mistake to make at the same time you should be aware of the vehicle your driving no excuse if a there is a note of the both the height of the vehicle and object.
