I assume it will do a one way loop via Penalverne Estate and Clarence St in both directions to serve the hospital, otherwise it would miss out some existing stops.

At one stage years ago the service was numbered 5.

Doesn't go into Penryn Town Centre the Asda is fairly far from the centre and obviously not Falmouth which are the biggest and most populous points. Majority are normally through goers.

Its the main route from Truro to Falmouth, known as the U1 when First ran it

I assumed they just meant the Truro-Truro College part had been removed from public use not the entire journey. First got around this by having the U1 and the U1X

The 32 will be going that way which most defiantly is an improvement, it's the aforementioned gap that concerns me, once that's hopefully sorted (I have mentioned to GCB) it's a pretty good timetable.

Both were better than what we have now I speak to passengers and they hate the red bus company always waiting longer for buses that are 20 years old most of the time and packed because of the stupid frequencies now. But also those so called scruffy b9’s were exceptionally well maintained better than these Cummins cheap rubbish and at least First felt professional this company is a joke.

So called scruffy? These photos from Retrobus and West Barra show how standards had slipped in recent years. No better internally either though at least some (the ex Bristol and ex Donny ones) had been refurbished earlier in their lives.



Also, are buses being 20 years old "most of the time"? That's hyperbole from people. Granted, they have a number of 2006/7 e400s but to be honest, much of the fleet are 2013-2020 - arguably, the 2006/7 stuff is only there because they had to source a fleet to cope with the increased activity. That said, you'd hope that there is an investment plan to upgrade the fleet.

As for frequencies and how they run their business, given the losses that First were racking up, perhaps some changes to frequencies and fleet were inevitable? Remember that for the three years before they lost their schools and college work, they lost about £14m across First South West.

I had a 2020 E200MMC when I was down in Cornwall last month, Even that sounded like it wanted to give up.... Though it's probably covers alot more miles a year than the ones I'm used to back at home here in Birmingham!

That obviously influenced the purchase of ex London fleet - there wasn't much else to be had.

Hopefully, they will be able to order some new fleet (as per recent fleet into GSC and B&H of recent years) and even some newer cascades to enable the older examples to get binned.

I for one dont mind older vehicles providing they do what they need to do. The thing that infuriates me most, and its not GoCornwall's fault is some of the rediculous headways along common corridors. Most of this is down to Cornwall Council's stupid ideas of into a bus station all at the same time to go out again at the same times. For example, the 24, 25 and 26 all ran down St.Blazey Gate today behind one and other.

Makes no sense when you also see services in Truro along the main corridors following each other....

A simple headway frequency so a place gets 2 per hour evenly spread is better than 3 in 10 mins and nothing for 50!

I am still greatful for GoCornwall for stepping in!

Bear in mind the 20/70 plate buses were bought for the TfC contract, had First won that contract there may have also bought new vehicles. So comparing First’s commercial fleet to this is hardly fair.

I still can’t believe how everyone’s expectations have dropped. When First decided to reduce the open top services introducing a ‘mid season’ timetable in all but the summer holidays we used to have daily updates of people being left behind, complaints of it not being good enough etc, every wrong working was analysed to the Nth degree, Now it seems all opinions has been reset and any service whatsoever is seen as good enough.
