Hi all

Just going from Marple to Rochdale, a £2.40 rtn fare with Y-P but I've got given a Rose Hill to Rochdale ticket. Both fares are the same and I'm travelling back to Chinley, on the Manchester to Sheffield line via Marple. Where will I have to pay from on the way back? Romiley to Chinley or Marple to Chinley?

Tom

I'm not a professional so maybe wait for another answer but as far as I'm aware a ticket for Marple is interchangable between both stations so you should be able to go for the Marple - Chinley option.

I would suggest that you need your ticket extension from Romiley. The difference is only 10p/20p anyway.

If you are not making the return journey from Romiley to Chinley until after 1830, then possibly the cheapest option maybe to purchase an Evening cheap day return from Chinley to Romiley and not use the outward ticket.

P.S. Don't forget that the last train tonight from Manchester to Chinley (via Romiley/Marple) is the 2045 from Manchester Piccadilly (arrives Chinley 2119). The later/last service (2228 from Manchester Piccadilly, arrives Chinley 2253) is routed via Stockport, and so your proposed ticket extension wouldn't be valid on this service.
