Greater Manchester Rail Ranger zone ends after Greenfield.

If a pax has a GMRR and a return ticket Greenfield - Huddersfield for the same day; is that valid even if the train doesn't stop at Greenfield?

Thanks!

*Could also apply to trips the the near Peak District as and when lines are fully reopened of course!

Hi, one I can actually answer after reading this forum enough :)

See the National Rail Conditions of Travel:-

14.2 If you are using a Season Ticket, daily Zonal Ticket, or another area based Ticket such as a concessionary pass, ranger or rover in conjunction with another Ticket and the last station at which one Ticket is valid and the first station that the other Ticket is valid are the same, then the train does not need to call at that station for your combination to be valid

(With thanks to Yorkie)

And for trips in to Derbyshire, you can go as far as Strines on the Northern services to Sheffield (which is only stopped at every other hour IIRC), and Hazel Grove for the expresses via Stockport.

Although a GM Wayfarer might be better for Derbyshire as it's valid as far as Grindleford (last stop in Derbyshire), and all the way to Buxton also. Of course it's also valid to Glossop and Hadfield too.

Yes it's a superb value ticket; however it won't get me far into Yorkshire!!
