Gloucester to York

Hi, I'm looking for two tickets to York from Gloucester, or Cheltenham Spa either on Monday June 6th or Saturday June 18th, both to come back on the same day.

I'm not quite sure what the rules are regarding splitting journeys but all I can find are pretty expensive tickets which puts a stop to the whole trip.

Any help would be appreciated.

Having to make a similar journey about 18 months back, I found the places to split the tickets was Birmingham, Derby and Sheffield, especially if any part of your journey is at peak time.

As all services from Cheltenham to the North East call at these stations, there is no need to change trains either.
