Gloucester Road Station Contrasts 1980s - 2025 Film 1

Trains and station views - still images and S-VHS video - at Gloucester Road Underground station in London.

This is the first of two films - this one shows C and D subsurface stocks (on the Circle and District lines) and 1973 tube stock (on the Piccadilly line).

Also seen are the lifts down to the Piccadilly line, the westbound District line 'white arrow' next train describer when it actually worked (nowadays its still there but non-working) and on the D stock the illuminated surround around the buttons that were used to open the passenger doors.

1990s era S-VHS image quality is not as good as HD or 4K video - especially not in a semi-dark environment - but its all we had in those days.

The plan is for film 2 to be released in the second half of December 2025

Trains and station views - still images and HD video - at Gloucester Road Underground station in London. 2012 - 2025.

This is the second of two films - and it almost has the proverbial kitchen sink!

The trains include C, D and S (S7 variant) subsurface stocks (on the Circle and District lines) and 1973 tube stock (on the Piccadilly line). Most trains wear London Underground Limited Corporate livery - the exception is an S stock train in the 'New Trains' wrap. Footage dated 2012 - 2025. Running time 23+ minutes.

Also seen:
*Two battery locomotives with a weedkilling train
*Trains using rare track which no longer exists
*Crossover track points in action
*Piccadilly line lifts (different lifts in both 2012 and 2025!)
*'Art On The Underground' displays on a disused station platform
*Colour light signals which are no longer used
*S Stock trains using their white light 'Ready To Depart Indicators'
*A train travelling 'bang road' (wrong direction)
*2012 views include signs with added information (pink in colour) for the Olympic and Paralympic Games

It is a whopping 23 minutes long. It took me ages to assemble, edit, etc., - very much a Christmas special
