Hello guys.

Now, this website is great for general chat about the UK railway network, and trains in general. Because of this, I have defiantly broadened my knowledge on the network.
However, knowing the engineering behind trains appears to be the grey matter. "Transformers, motor coach, traction brake controllers" to some may seem rather intimidating, if people do not know what they do, or how they work.

So for a chance to show off, and, for a bit of fun, I am inviting everybody to contribute in the journal.

If you want to write about how the doors open and close... be my guest :D.

Even if you have scraps knowledge, but there is that little thought at the back of your head - don't be afraid.

Many thanks.

Surely the thread would have to include all of electrical, mechanical and civil engineering if it was going to address every question that might be asked, and thus RailUK Forums would burst at the seams! Not to mention that the web (and your local library) is full of much better resources for technical stuff. Just my 2p worth.
