Oh, here there and anywhere
I think Scotrail operate the standard tests other TOC's utilise. The 'glop' test is the memory test and it is a paragraph of text which uses words uncommon in general use but I'm sure they mean a hell of a lot more to the rail industry. You hear and read a passage of text and make notes then answer questions relating to the passage. It's as simple as that really, nothing to lose sleep over

It is about 4 paragraphs of text (Last performed this test Oct 2009) & you have about 7 minutes to memorise it then the text gets taken away.
Next you wait 2 minutes (while the test centre hopes you forget what you've just read!!!) then you get handed out 18 questions.
Difficulty level?? To me it was harder than the Dials, Reactions and Concentration.

Recently done this test with ScotRail. You get given a passage of text and this also gets read out via a CD player you then get 5 minutes to keep reading through the passage and make your own notes.

The notes are then removed and you start on the questions.
