Sat 17th Apr, 1750; Cardiff Central to Stockport is stupid priced with a YP railcard. To get to Sheffield (using the exact same train to Stockport and change there) is £9.90, I think I'll take the £9.90 thanks, haha.

I mean how does that work? Go 30 miles further and spend £25 less

I can tell you're new to the forum ;)

It's often the case, especially with AP tickets, or at peak time where a longer distance off peak ticket has a more favourable restriction code.

I said a few days ago I rarely buy a ticket to where I am travelling to - it us usually cheaper either to split it into multiple tickets or buy further!

If you bought an AP ATW & Connections fare , which seems this way given that it is the only one priced at £9.90, does it stop at Stockport? or is it via an alternative route? If it does then it seems odd that they've sold out the quota for Stockport as it is the same fare (NBA) priced at £7.90.

Some TOCs seem to have quotas per pair of stations on each train. I once bought an Advance Haymarket - London ticket for £23 less than the Edinburgh - London fare available on the same train.
