As a seasoned Tribute engineer and a career at HP spanning several years before that, there's little more I can do - I have virtually replaced every component. It seems to be the Steam plugin that causes the aggro. The program updates via Steam so it's not like it can be installed standalone.
As Valve Games Inc. (Trading as Steam) are conveniently in Luxembourg with no telephone contact number and only email (which they have NOT responded to), there's little I can do. There's more chance of West Ham United playing in the Champions League than me getting this program to work, sadly... Even the most basic settings cause it to crash. I've cleared the cache, removed temp files (even hidden ones), Windows Defender reports no issues, and I don't want to remove virus scanners just to play a sim.
I have 1GB Video RAM on my card, 1TB hard disk, Core i3 CPU, 5GB RAM, yet I'm struggling like Katie Price in a spelling contest. Go figure
So I wiped it off. £50 gone, but I've got money. Thanks for your advice though![]()
Steam shouldn't be affecting how the game plays.
What I would suggest is emailing RSC Support (support@railsimulator.com). Maybe asking them if it's possible for a refund as Steam/Valve have been ignoring your emails - Valve can take 10 days or so to reply.
Have you tried reinstalling the game?
Have you installed any extra mods such as files from UKTrainSim etc.?
Valve (Steam) are actually based in North America, but I believe they have Luxembourg as to comply with EU regulations. I'm no expert on law, but I believe if the game doesn't work as intended then you are entitled to a refund under EU law.
