Glasgow to Preston Off-Peak DAY Return - validity?

So there's a cheaper off-peak day return you can get between Glasgow and Preston for £51.70, versus a dearer £98.10 for the off peak return.

The only caveat is, it only offers the off-peak day return on trains after 9.30 whereas the off-peak return is valid on everything (the return is valid for a month)

I checked brfares and seen the Day return has a restriction between 04.29 and 09.30.

Which leads me to a silly question, is the DAY return valid on earlier services than the Avanti 09:36, Mon-Fri despite the restriction?

I wonder if thats why it leaves at 0428 then rather than 0430 for example?

Its a shame you can't use the ticket on services around 07:00-08:00 though (unless its Saturday of course)

That day unless you've fully completed your journey within 2 minutes.

It needs to be dated for the day of travel. A ticket dated for the previous day is only valid for travel up to 04:30.
