Glasgow to Livingston validity

Is it possible to purchase a return ticket from Glasgow to Livingston, using Livingston South on the outward and Livingston North on the return and vice versa? Is the answer the same with a 7 day season ticket? Thanks in advance.

There was a local easement allowing passengers to use Livingstone North / South interchangeably going to / from Glasgow and Edinburgh as long as the higher fare is paid (which would be the fare for Livingstone North in the case of Glasgow).

Yes, this is still the case. The wording states that tickets to/from Livingston are valid to either station subject to payment of any difference in fares, in theory this would mean an excess to the higher fare (if required), in practice tickets are usually accepted as held.

Livingstone

I believe this town is in Malawi Zambia*? Not sure what the excess would be for that?

(* I was confusing it with Blantyre (Malawi) named after Blantyre (Lanarks), the birth place of David Livingstone. Many people think Livingston is named after David Livingstone but it is in fact derived from Leving's Toun - Leving being a Flemish settler to Scotland.)

I'm sure BB21 was merely using the spelling from Leving's fellow Dutch speakers Abellio who used the erroneous Livingstone North/South on their franchise proposal map:

I know that the SQUIRE inspectors from Transport Scotland are pretty merciless when it comes to erroneous or out of date infomation contained in the on train posters (inc. maps). Hopefully not to the extent of penalising a spelling mistake but that said they did report any maps without Laurencekirk & the Alloa branch.

I must say I have always spelt it with an "e" at the end and never questioned it.

Abellio did a better job than Transport Scotland to be fair. The Interactive Map they published had 17 stations spelt incorrectly...
