Hi all. my first post for the new year. On Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd I visited Glasgow Central High Level station to capture more photographs showing the progress being made on the platform 12 extension and new build platform 13. Platform 12 has been dug up with its track uplifted also. There is very limited space for you to walk surrounding the fence protecting the works from the very little 'untouchable' parts of the platform. Photographs can be found and viewed in the links provided below. More updates to come soon hopefully if and when I get time to do so.

Photographs From Saturday 2nd January 2010:
Different views showing platform 12 dug up, buffers still standing (soon to be removed) and track now uplifted - a major milestone in the station improvements part of the Glasgow - Paisley Improvements Project:

I've a family member that was involved in the digging up of the platform on the 26th- things went badly wrong, with some very long overnight shifts that weekend required to complete work which had been scheduled to be mainly done in daylight hours. Several machines broke down, being the main cause of the delays. Interesting to see what was done, cheers.

I heard all about it, not good. These things happen though unfortunately. The fox in amongst all the work shocked me yesterday. I was about to capture a close up photograph of it but of course it ran way just as I was about to press the shutter button on the camera, again these things happen;)

Best Regards

There are a few foxes living in City Centre. The ones at Central get fat on the amount of food dropped outside all the take-aways. They must be the only things that will eat chips from Blue Lagoon when sober.
