Hi all. Are Glasgow Central -> Ayr route "any permitted" rail tickets also available for journeys via Kilmarnock (rather than the usual route via Paisley Gilmour Street and Irvine)?

They indeed are valid for both routes, did it no later than last Saturday. Just slower

To confirm, if you select AG in the drop down list on this page ( http://data.atoc.org/routeing-maps ) you get the routes via Kilwinning and Kilmarnock.

You don't need to consult a map. The shortest route is always permitted. According to the National Rail Timetable, the route via Kilmarnock is the (equal) shortest route.
