Glasgow buses crash today

Two men have been injured in an incident involving a "runaway" double-decker bus in Glasgow city centre.Eyewitnesses said a service bus with no driver on board crashed at about 15:45. Two other buses and a car were damaged.

Renfield Street was closed for around two hours in the vicinity of West George Street and St Vincent Street as officers investigated the crash.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said two men were taken to hospital.

She said: "Police are appealing for information following an incident involving a bus in Glasgow city centre on Monday 18 July 2016.

"Around 15:45 police received a report of a bus apparently travelling south on Renfield Street having collided with a stationary car at traffic lights at West George Street. The car moved forward and struck a pedestrian on Renfield Street.....

It seems it was a runaway bus with reports of a driver running after it. Either way Stagecoach, Mcgill and First all have buses damaged because of it.

Oh dear, my thoughts go out to the ones effected in the accident.
Without wishing to speculate too much, the first thing that I am thinking if it is a runaway bus was whether the driver of the bus had applied his parking brake.
I am sure it time the truth of what has happened in this event will come out.

Another one in Glasgow after the helicopter and bin lorry incidents, just hope the injuries are not too serious.

It would appear that a handbrake not applied might be behind it, I saw a police officer do that a few years ago but fortunately no serious consequences. We all make mistakes!

Indeed we all do, however lets hope that this has no long term damage for all involved.

When I passed it a few moments ago, Stagecoach's 27213 and 27226 are very badly damaged and the First Trident has been taken away.
