Okay now it's a biggie. I'll do some research.
Sorry I meant that the train had stopped at MCO and saw some people filming something on their mobile phones when a couple of the staff went into a carriage and, as Iwas just keen to get in I couldn't see what the fuss was about....

Ah right, it's due at GLC in just under an hour. It got stalled again outside Bolton and Chorley, bad day for TPX!

Doesn't really qualify as a bad day. It's one isolated train.
It was held at Oxford Road for 10 minutes (presumably related to whatever the OP saw) and looks like it's got stuck at every junction since, with delay stacking up.

If it's the end of his shift I think the driver will be looking forward to overtime pay and the passenger their refunds!
Forgot to mention, a lady bound for liverpool got onto the train and maybe 3 minutes into the journey realised that she was on the wrong train. Her reaction when the next stop would be Bolton was - there weren't any announcements when I got into the train. I presume it's easy enough for people to just have a look at the display boards on stations rather than just getting into a train assuming what train it is or maybe jsut look at the external displays on the train.

The 1700 MIA-GLC (1S81) was delayed was 31mins late leaving Carlisle however 1M19 GlC-EUS was late gettong into carlisle due to a train fault so there might have been a a failure at kingmoor or gretna

It was MIA as well! The expected report of the service was overdue, so it was basically unknown where it was/lost

I was on a Preston - Euston service a while back where some guy in my carriage (who was bound for either Wigan or Warrington) got on with an Advance ticket for another service. Whether this was through ignorance or in the hope he could wing it, I don't know... unfortunately for him he'd picked one of the PRE-EUS non-stoppers!

I'm having a more detailed look at this, and something about what this train was doing today isn't adding up from where I'm sitting. Did you see/get on this service at Oxford Road?
The 1711 to Liverpool ex-Scarborough seems to be mixed up in this somehow but I can't work it out. Apparently it passed through (!) :? the Glasgow train in Platform 14 of Piccadilly. Any staff able to shed any light?
No idea - the Liverpool arrived before the Glasgow but left afterwards...?
Perhaps there was an issue with one of the units which meant it had to be on a home depot for the night (ie the rear Barrow-bound unit of the Glasgow train)... Quick bit of shunting resulted in the Liverpool bound train becoming a Glasgow with the original front part of the Glasgow now going to Barrow, while the rear Glasgow unit originally for Barrow stayed behind and went to Liverpool instead and back to York?

It was busier than normal. I was on the ATW 1719 Picc to Chester service which was 5 min late arriving at P14 due to a late running Lime St service. We were held outside of Oxford Road for a further 8 mins and the explanation we received from our train guard was that another Toc was "swapping trains" at MCO.
Yeah, I did get on the train at Oxford Road yesterday. I think the liverpool train around a similar time went to another platform as this train was delayed.

Inward working to Manchester Airport from Glasgow, front windscreen damaged by a bird strike near Tebay. Ok to continue but front set had to be detached at Oxford Road and sent back to depot. Thus 3 cars only to the airport, so on return there was a set swop at Oxford Road with a Scarborough - Liverpool which was a 6 car. This must have caused chaos at 1720-1730 and also explains why there were Liverpool people on it as the message never gets communicated properly.
