ECML it is then!

But, from where to where?

If you wanted to start somewhere like Leeds or York and get one that stops at most stations then it'd be practical for those half way like me who'd join at somewhere like Doncaster, Retford, Newark or Grantham, then down to London?

Hmm, don't think I could get to York that early!

It would be nice to have something central, yet long distance at the same time. Something like the Newquays would be good, but that's obviously not going to happen.

What diagrams do the XC HSTs do? That may be an option if they're nicely timed.

Any specific services which are usually booked as HSTs? Just so I can look at times and that.

Umm, horse-collop I've forgotten them. The 1221 Plymouth to Edinburgh (or wherever it may go on the day in question) is a HST, as is the 1121 Plymouth to Edinburgh (again, I think that's where it goes).

Besides, they're bound to change in the next timetable when this trip will be happening.

Hmmm...those times seem quite awful to me. Too early to get to the places. Unless of course we joined at intermediate stations.

Oi. 91s are hellfire.

Only if you're watching them from outside the train, they're evilily boring when you're actually on the train.

Now 220s and 221s, they're hellfire. MUCH more so than 91s! At least you can hear the things working!

Where are you thinking about for intermediate stations? Sheffield to Bristol?

No idea yet to be honest. I just like planning things :D Sheffield is probably a good idea. Could do Sheffield all the way South to wherever and then back.

I would have to agree with Craig. I've found the ECML to be one of the most scenic lines. Especially that little beach. I think it's called Spittal.

I'd be happy with a Sheffield to Exeter/Plymouth lot, easily doable in one day and relatively easy for lots of people to get to/from (well, with exception to Scotland I guess!) at various places. Plus of course it can be done on combo day returns quite easily.

I aint really read this thread, But I think it was a HST you wanted to do? Seen as there is only a Few HST's from SHF on a daily basis, I assume your doing a XC tram as your doing it to Ply? So people can join in from Scotland if you do 1V39 06:32 DEE-PLY

Bear in mind the HST diagrams will probably change in the next TT.

There's a few in the morning like, but yeah nothing really after 10am.

Problem with the DEE - PLY is the time it reaches PLY really, getting a bit late for heading home on its returning working (1821 PLY - LDS/YRK).

Bear in mind also that this is planned for a Saturday and as far as I'm aware the Saturday diagrams are different than M-F ones.

Conner: Raised that same point myself earlier this evening, but there we go.

Considering that this will be in December, I don't think Summer Saturday's will be much use :P

IF you do it on the same weekend as your last one it is still the summer timetable.

Ah haaar, I see!

I imagine it'll either be the weekend before or after my birthday on the 11th of December.

Indeed. If cost weren't a problem, god knows what we'd be doing :P Probably a giant RailUK slumber party at my house, follwed by a trip to Wick!
