Trying to arrange a meet up with some pals for a short walk (!) scenery and a few beers!

Meet at Giggleswick station circa 1130, short walk to Settle for brunch, train to Ribblehead short walk to view viaduct, beer in Station Inn, train to Skipton couple of beers then to Leeds for a couple more beers and train home circa 2000.

Looking for fare advice with senior railcard:

Frodsham to Ribblehead, out via Giggleswick return via Skipton/Leeds/Manchester
Aughton Park to Ribblehead, out via Giggleswick return via Skipton/Leeds/Preston

Thanks!

Anything better/cheaper and just as flexible as an Anytime Rsturn (Frodsham->Ribblehead) priced at £32.75 with railcard discount?

Returning via Bradford rather than Leeds might be cheaper. And there are some decent pubs in Bradford, City of Culture!

Yes. Sunbridge Wells for Waller's Brewery or the Rose and Crown (not to be confused with the Rose and Crown, Westgate!), the Exchange Ale House on Market Street, the Corn Dolly at the foot of Bolton Road, anything on North Parade (Record Café, Peacock, Boar & Fable), Jacob's Well on Kent Street, City Vaults on Hustlergate, short walk to the Fighting Cock...

And a shout out for the Corn Dolly!

I'd just go to the Corn Dolly for amazing beer, hopefully a sandwich the size of a baby's arm, or pie and peas and sit by the fire with no intention of going anywhere else!

One of the best views of Ribblehead Viaduct is from the gents of the Station Inn!
