Hi,

I was wondering if anyone of you was aware if its possible to buy two seperate season ticket.

What I mean if I buy a monthly from East Croydon to Hatfield - that's £303.40. But if I buy a Zone 1-6 travelcard (£182.80) and Hadley Wood (zone 6 station) to Hatfield (£98) ..this works out to be £280.80 saving me £22 every month.

Do you think First capital connect would allow this ? The train to Hatfield I get on is a fast one and doesnt stop at Hadley Wood. I usually get it from Kings Cross or Finsbury Park.

Thanks,
Mehak

The relevant rule is this:
National Conditions of Carriage said:
19. Using a combination of tickets
You may use two or more tickets for one journey as long as together they cover the entire journey and one of the following applies:
(a) they are both Zonal Tickets (unless special conditions prohibit their use);
(b) the train you are in calls at the station where you change from one ticket to another; or
(c) one of the tickets is a Season Ticket (which for this purpose does not include Season Tickets or travel passes issued on behalf of a passenger transport executive or local authority) or a leisure travel pass, and the other ticket(s) is/are not.
http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/system/galleries/download/misc/NRCOC.pdf
(a) does not apply because the Travelcard is a zonal ticket but the Hadley Wood - Hatfield season is not.
(b) does not apply because you want to use this combination of tickets on trains which do not call at the station where you change from one ticket to another
(c) does not apply because both tickets are season tickets. For (c) to apply, you need one season ticket and one or more tickets which are not season tickets.

So, sorry, the rules do not allow this particular combination of tickets where the train does not stop at the changeover point.

Note, however, that it is valid to combine a Zone 1-6 travelcard with daily Hadley Wood - Hatfield tickest on trains which do not stop at Hadley Wood.
