Hey there guys not been on here for a while. Don't know if this is in the right section or not but if not i suppose a mod could move it for me.
Anyway I joined this forum after apply for the NR Apprenticeship scheme a couple of years ago well anyway I went for selection and passed then was 'booked in' to go to the local depot meet the manager then i would be in anyway 3 weeks after they said I got through they emailed me saying they had over booked and i was not in the top percentile
Since I have been successful in other things but went for a job at TES2000 to get my foot on the ladder get a PTS some experience and start earning some money on the books rather than ducking and diving!
I'm in the last few days of my track induction and I have a quality trainer he is teaching us all sort of stuff but i'd like to know what it is you generally come into contact with most of the time....
For example he has taught us about all types of rail and sleepers fixings and tools to remove clips etc but when I speak to friends of mine they say they never! use clip extractors just a key hammer..
So really i'm back on here to find out what its really like!
