Hi Folks..I am very new to EA Train Sim. As a result I am working my way through the various senarios. I am currently STUCK with the Newcastle/York Long Hop senario. For those of you who are familiar with it,it starts in the Gateshead yard where you re-fuel then you are told to go to the Tyne Yard to pick up freight.
The problem is I can not find my way out of the yard and futhermore I have no clue as to what direction to take . As yet I have found no indication as to where I should be going and in the absense of a yard layout or map overview I see me being still there well into the new year. There are a vast number of interlinked sidings 17 + in all and at least 3 ways out. One the " Gateshead Gate " leads knowhere. I have been on the task for over two hours which is the length of time allotted for the whole senario.
Where am I going wrong? Unlike all the other senarios all the sidings points have to be set by you and that is a problem.as if you think you have set them and you havn't then it is "Game over" and back to square one.

Help please...Mick

I havent played this one, but the first thing you should do is turn on the siding tags by pressing F6, as this will tell you where each item of stock should be. If you look at the side of the carriage (Im not sure, but I think F6 when close up might tell you anyway) which item of stock you are looking for.

You can also look in plan view by using the top bar and pressing the left hand button, and this will give you some of the information you require.

I hope this helps.

This happened to me too. What you have to do is refuel, but then move across the yard towards the river. You'll see two bi-directional lines that head out of the yard over some diamond crossings. The one furthest from the river should be green for you to pull out behind a main aspect. You're making the same mistake as me by trying to get out on the junctions near to the fuelling point/start location. Hope you've understood my post and it helps.

Matt...I am out.I did not realise how close I was when I originally exited into the Gateshead Gate the first time. What I did not realise at the time was I needed to go no futher than the bridge. Then change direction and run out. I was thinking all the time I needed to go North on the top line. I did however needed to go on the Net to find out where the Tyne Yard was in relation to the Gateshead Yard.Interestingly it was South of Newcastle and South of the Low Fell yard. Once into the Tyne Yard, picking up the two sets of trucks was easy and I am now on my way to Ferryhill.

Thanks for your help , I am still at a loss as to how a newcomer to the game was to know all of what was needed to get to the Tyne Yard.

Makes the game interesting if a little frustrating at times.

Mick.
