This weekend, I have to go down to Heathrow, for which I have purchased a Super Off-Peak return from York. However, there are engineering works, which means that the York to Doncaster segment is being diverted.
I live in Selby, so am getting a lift to the station. However, the 0902 from York doesn't actually get to Donny until 1011 on this particular routing, which would probably gain my wife (the lift-giver) an extra 45 precious minutes in bed.
As I'll already have the ticket in hand, is there anything to stop me getting on at the 'wrong' station ? Are there any other pitfalls that I haven't considered ?
