Have to go to Hockley on Saturday. Have looked at GA website and they have Hare fare promo so can get a £12 return. On way out it's easiest for me to go to Manor Park and get Elizabeth Line to Shenfield then get on GA train to Hockley. Going out in Central London in the evening so want to get train back to London Liverpool St. If I get a return from London Liv St to Hockley, is it ok to get on at Shenfield. I won't be leaving the station just changing trains?

Further to the above, Hare Fares are not valid on Elizabeth line services.

Break of journey is permitted on these tickets; previous threads refer.

However they are routed "Greater Anglia only" and are thus not valid on Elizabeth line services. This means that, in practice, you can only break your journey at stations served by GA, e.g. Stratford or Romford.

Well - the information shown above from brfares.com states clearly that BoJ is NOT permitted. If this is correct, joining the GA service at Shenfield would break that condition. Passenger has to touch out their contactless card at the gateline then return to the platform to catch the GA train.

Is the information shown by brfares.com part of the ticket restrictions or conditions provided to the customer, or is it derived only from the electronic data records associated with the ticket which are used by online retailers?

Where electronic data records relating to time/TOC restrictions are shown by brfares.com they are listed as "Unpublished Restrictions" to reflect this distinction.

My reading of what is shown on brfares.com in this instance is that the no break of journey statements derive only from electronic data records of validity attached to the ticket type (NX2). However, and as far as I can tell, quite separately to the electronic data and what is shown on brfares.com, the terms and conditions for the Hare Fares tickets provided to the customer on the GA website DO state that break of journey is not permitted.

Break of journeys not permitted. For example, if you have a Norwich to London ticket, you won't be allowed to stop at Colchester for a couple of hours and then get back on and continue into London.

BR Fares is not an official source. It merely shows you what the rail industry data contains.

There is an erroneous piece of data suggesting that there is a break of journey restriction on all tickets with code NX2 but this simply is not how it works. The Hare Fares are walk-up fares and accordingly break of journey is permitted unless the text of the restriction says otherwise.

These terms and conditions are not referenced anywhere if you simply search for a ticket on the Greater Anglia website or app. You won't be told about any break of journey restrictions.

Hare Fare T&Cs say:

Fairly sure it's also on the posters/leaflets.

That's as may be, but none of these things are linked or provided when actually buying a ticket, which is what ultimately matters. Remember the NRCoT says:
When purchasing your Ticket, we will make available information on specific restrictions that apply to your Ticket

In the absence of any such information, the restrictions cannot apply.

I decided to access the booking part of the GA web site to see what it says. This is the full detail:
Absolutely nothing about break of journey limitations. In fact it is a "flexible ticket". OP should buy the ticket, use contactless from Manor Park to Shenfield, then board the GA train at Shenfield after visiting the gateline to tap out the contactless card.
