Getting lost through the videos on YouTube..

Hello all,

This got me thinking of starting this on my 'session' on YouTube. How many people, and I can't be the only one, go on YouTube to watch a simple video like, I dunno..67017 on the last railtour or something and then an hour later your watching 'A mini cooper crashes into tree' or something off the wall!

I have done this countless times, getting diverted off onto the 'related videos' and can start off at Pink Floyd and then end up watching tractor pulling or something!
Not always, but sometimes I actually forget what I started on in the first place or what I came on YouTube for, mainly as I get distracted from the 'recommended for you' section.

So, do you have your own, unplanned random video session, and do you go through various subjects too?

I've done it a few times, but then again You Tube is going like Fotopic and filling up with crap videos from anyone who has a compact camera and likes running up and down platforms to apparently record a *MEGA RARE* working.

There's a similar phenomenon for Wikipedia, I forget it's name. Basically, you read a Wiki article, and you spy a link that looks interesting or will give more information. Click. Before you know it, it's two hours later and you've gone from "Julius Caesar" to "M4 Motorway" via "List of famous dogs".

I'm sometimes like that on Wikipedia - even worse with tabbed browsing as going through an article I just middle click loads to read later...which spawns more! An interesting challenge is to name a start and end "topic" and see wh can get there via the least number of Wiki pages...anyway, I digress....

Speaking of Wikipedia, did you know that if you click on random article button on the left of screen it's normally possible to get to the article on Hitler in about 4/5 further clicks? For instance a few I just did:

Random Article -> 1698 (the year) -> Moscow -> Russia -> World War 2 -> Hitler

Random Article -> Jović -> Bojan Jović -> Yugoslavia -> Nazi Germany -> Hitler

Random Article -> Norton 961 Commando -> USA -> WW2 -> Hitler
