Hi, I'm planning to do the Ebbw Vale Town (EBB) and Rhymney (RHY) lines out of Cardiff (CDF) but would like to save time by using a bus to get from Ebbw to Rhymney (or vice-versa). My itinerary means I will be in Cardiff at 1137. From looking at NR there is a 1216 that gets me into RHY at 1319 or a 1234 that arrives in EBB at 1335. Can anyone please help me identify a bus service that could get me from one station to the other. My date of travel is 22nd September. Thanks for any help.

Go onto Google Maps and use the transit option to plan a trip - that's the easiest way.

The bus stop at Ebbw Vale Town is just around the corner from the station. As you come out of the station, head straight out and turn left towards the large buildings on the left. This area is known as Ebbw Vale Learning Zone, and I think you need stand 3 for the X4 with Stagecoach South Wales, which is about every 15 minutes towards Merthyr Tydfil. You would need to change there for Rhymney I believe, however I've never done the journey myself so I could not advise on the rest of it.

www.stagecoachbus.com is your friend here, their journey planner will give you all the details and the maps you need

Google is giving a couple options from Ebbw Vale Town, the X4 towards Cardiff to "Tredegar Arms" and then the Route 3 towards Bargoed from Asda. Departing Ebbw Vale at 13:57 and getting into Rhymney at 14:52, giving you 30 minutes to play with before the next departure.

Thanks for all the replies. Really helpful. I'm sooooo glad that I won't be spending most of the day just covering the two branches; now I can use the bus. Might even be able to get the Severn Beach done as well
