I think that this news is a bit too small for its own topic. Therefore, I take the liberty of brightening up this thread of contributions a bit.

Reopening of the norther Section of the Hesselbergbahn in Bavaria

Today there is also positive news from the German rail transport. Tomorrow, the northern section of the Hesselbergbahn between Gunzenhausen and Wassertrüdingen will go back into operation. This was celebrate with a small Station Party in Wassertrüdingen.

The last time a scheduled passenger train ran there was 39 years ago. The entire route runs between Gunzenhausen and Nördlingen. However, only the northern part has fulfilled the strict reactivation criteria of the Free State of Bavaria. The southern part will continue to be reserved for heritage trains from the Bavarian Railway Museum in Nördlingen.

The mood was good. But during the panel discussion, the Bavarian Minister of Transport had to listen to a lot of criticism. Especially since many would have liked to see a reactivation to Nördlingen and because the Dombühl - Nördlingen railway line is only about 15 kilometres away. This line is still waiting for passenger traffic too.

The transport minister pushed a lot of criticism to Berlin. There is a lack of millions of euros in subsidies for public transport.

Afterwards there was train christening and trial rides.
Today, the museum railway of the Bavarian Railway Museum ran to Nördlingen

Marginal note

The station festival ended at 1:00 p.m., which is very early for similar celebrations.

Im stood on the middle Plattform for the Heritage Trains. The Trains leaves Wassertrüdingen on the other side.

I would liked show the steam train. Unfortunately, the photos were not so good because of the light and the many people.

Back to original subject: stated punctuality for DB-Fern in NOV was slightly above 60% (that means arr with 5 mins delay max). A further never reached low level.
As to above: me myself often wonder why the Germans, our eastern neighbors, put so much effort in re-opening tiny minor branch lines that would not even reach a stadium of ´being considered´ in NL. We think that any line should have least a 30-min frequency-and hence the nr of pax to fill that. But I am already quite satisfied with the current trend in DE-mostly buses though, of the ´jede Stunde´= ev. hour. Being older I keep @ home still a BRD-DB/Kursbach from the 70 ies or so that shows a big map with all those lines. And one of the old DDR-DR, with a price in RM/MkDDR, that shows even many more now closed minor branches that VEB Kraftverkehr would not serve with their art. Ikarus buses.
And come on: Germany, DECember, SATurday/Samstag/Afternoon/Mittag: dann muss wohl jeder zur Weihnachtsmarkt, oder? Then each+everyone visits the XMasmarkets close by. When even to relieve traffic congestion the buses are made free/umsonst in many areas-as if those contemplating using them would not have a DE=ticket on their ´Handy´=fone anyway.
