Gerald attracts little interest on Saturday

Colleagues report very little interest in the Gerald special 6 coach loco hauled ATW to Cardiff on Saturday, only a very few were seen on board at Chester.

No doubt the result may have been a forgone conclusion, or hardly anyone knew it was even running is more probable

Was the reason it ran on saturday because of the Rugby in Cardiff?. I suspect it was so another service could have been strengthend with another DMU.

Plus what were the calling points past Chester?.
