I'm afraid I don't know the name, but with those clues I'm sure it's got to be someone at De Havilland Aircraft?

( so if nobody else gets the name I'm staking a claim here!!! )

You are on the right track - but what was the name? Let's see if anyone else knows.

de Havilland
Geoffrey de Havilland ran the company and probably had a big hand in the concepts, but he didn't lead the design.

Which monarch created a successful niche product with a tiny development budget, which is still a market leader over 50 years later.

To help move this along, can I ask if it was invented by a non-British monarch, and is it mainly useful for royalty undertaking their duties, or can anyone benefit from it?

Like the cleric in the previous question, Monarch refers to the name of the person involved, not actual royalty.

The person in question worked in the automotive industry.

If I may.

What was unusual about the 2-2 draw in 1976 between Aston Villa and Leicester City?

A pop group, most successful in the 1980s but still in existence today, released an album that (a) shared its name with a manufacturer of - amongst other things - locomotives, and (b) contained a single that shares its name with a famous railway-related area of south east England

Please name the group, the album and the single
