You will be crossing the border between Canada and the USA.
Is it the town where the whole town consists of one big building that has everything in it? Or is that in Russia?
Is it twinned with Phunnier? What is very unusual about the Alaskan town of Whittier? There are two unusual features, but one is effectively unique.
No roads?
Only accessable by rail?
Thanks. Staying on an Alaskan theme:Close enough. The town is on the coast, but until 1942 the only land access was over the mountains. In 1942 a single-track rail tunnel was built and this became the only land access until 2000, when the tunnel was converted to a road and rail tunnel. This means that it is the only town to which the only land access is through a lengthy (2 1/2 mile) tunnel.
To you to open the way to the next question.

That's exactly it - he told the story in a TV interview a couple of years ago and I made a note, thinking that it would be a good puzzle on here at some point. The actor who played the Gestapo agent Herr Otto Flick in the BBC sitcom "Allo, Allo" attended Winston Churchill's funeral. I guessed (or maybe remembered) that much, but now I confess to looking up his name because I couldn't remember it - Richard Gibson, and he attended the funeral as a St Paul's Cathedral chorister.
