For the benefit of members who are not familiar with the area, the Wainhouse Tower is a very tall, slender structure on the South-Western fringes of Halifax - overlooking the Calder Valley about a mile North-East of Sowerby Bridge - and overlooking Milner Royd Junction. It is open to the public to climb to the top and enjoy the panoramic views on both May and August bank holiday Mondays for a small fee....and is very close to two excellent real ale pubs - the Big Six and the Wainhouse Tavern.
